Fifth Annual “RED Day” Set to Lend a Hand in Pasadena, CA
Keller Williams Pasadena Market Center, part of a community
service initiative across the globe.
Pasadena, CA 2/22/14— Keller Williams associates may be
taking the day off on Thursday, May 8, 2014, but it will hardly be a day of
rest. Associates with the Pasadena Market Center have chosen to “Give Where
They Live” as part of RED Day, one of the biggest events in the real estate
industry.
Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,”
RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in
an international day of service.
As part of the RED Day effort, Pasadena Market Center has
chosen to spend the day with Harambee Ministries. Harambee Ministries and Harambee Christian
Family Center is dedicated to the development of indigenous leadership through
a holistic ministry that seeks to address both physical and spiritual needs by emphasizing
community engagement, academic advancement, and spiritual formation to
cultivate a thriving urban neighborhood in a sustainable project of biblical
hope. KW Pasadena will be planting flowers
and sprucing up the Harambee. While the
painting and sprucing is going on, we will also be entertaining the families
and patrons of Harambee with live entertainment and arts and crafts activities.
“This event is an entrenched part of Keller Williams
Realty’s culture and displays the extraordinary effect a company can have when
individuals come together to work as a team for the greater good of everyone,”
said Drea Valentine, event chair and KW realtor. “Last
year, we worked with Villa Esperanza Services, an amazing non-profit
organization whose mission is providing a range of services to a diverse,
disabled population across the age continuum.
“We painted and spruced up the activities room and bathrooms, planted
flowers and provided a wonderful music and magic show for the clients of the
program. We can’t tell you what an impact it made on each of us personally - it
felt so great to give back to the community we know and love.”
Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates
have given almost a half million hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives
to cleaning up trash in public parks, revamping gardens at nursing homes and
rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need. To this day, it is
one of the largest events in the real estate industry.
